Canada’s main stock index, the TSX Composite, shown in graph at left, fell on Thursday, as falling resource prices weighed on resource stocks and investors struggled to brush off concerns about slowing global growth while waiting for the U.S. Federal Reserve to raise rates. The Gold Index (TTGD) was down 3.27% and Energy (TTEN) down 0.85%.
The S&P 500 and Nasdaq closed slightly higher on Thursday in a choppy start to the fourth quarter as investors waited for the monthly U.S. jobs report and the start of earnings season. The DJI was down more than 200 points around noon but ended down just 12 points.
